Emerging Solar Cells

Such as perovskite, dye-sensitized and organic solar cellsSynthesis and characterization of new materials, polymers and composites; interface and defects studies; application of in situ and operando techniques to understand formation and degradation mechanisms; lead-free perovskite; prototypes and solar modules (large-scale devices).


Light Emitting Diodes

Synthesis and characterization of quantum dots of perovskite and chalcogenides; and two-dimensional (2D) structures for light emission.


Solid State Chemistry

Synthesis and characterization of nanostructures and nanoparticles of inorganic semiconductors, carbon-derived materials (such as graphene) for applications in optoelectronic devices.


Generation of Solar Fuels

Development of photoelectrochemical cells for the generation of hydrogen (H2) from water and/or biomass and photoreduction of carbon dioxide (CO2).
